Pros Very easy to set up and operate, plays DVDs, CDs, and MP3s, extra functions
Cons Some style issues, CD track blue screen tends to be shaky

R.I.P. my old DVD player. A while ago I had an unfortunate incident with my Netflix copy of Memoirs of a Geisha, causing the little guy to close his jaws, never to be opened again. Pros Lots of support for multiple disc and video formats.
Cons Cheap display. Complex drive mechanism has bad failure mode.
Recommended it? No

I bought this at Costco for $45 because an existing Toshiba DVD player was beginning to have trouble playing brand-new undamaged discs. As soon as I tried to skip an ad on the first disc I put in it, the drive mechanism started chattering loudly enough to make me worried it was damaging the disc. I... Read full review »

Pros Works consistently.
Cons Not really a difference over normal players.
Recommended it? No

So the salesman was pretty smart on making this sale.  Boasting all the qualities of the Blue-Ray over regular DVD players he drew me in like a moth to the flame.  I really wish he wouldn't have though, after several months of owning it.
