After using and selling the Canon SD700 IS, I have purchased the Panasonic DMC-FX01. The FX01 is similar to the Canon SD700: it has compact design, large LCD and optical image stabilization. Take-it-all-in wide angle: point and click almost always gets a useable picture.
Cons
Relatively noisy (mostly chrominance), noticeable in large blowups. No zoom in movie mode.

The latest as of now in the Inter Changeable lense cameras....the GF2 strikes out as one of the most compact of them all. Amongst other things the GF2 has touchscreen controls, 1920x1080 HD movie mode etc.
