Pros All that you pay for and a little more. Good feature set.
Cons S-L-O-W. No HDMI.
Recommended it? No

I have a rule when it comes to electronics. Buy the best. Before buying anything I read a lot, browse a lot, research everything and consider all of the major brands. So how come I've got a Protron PD-DVR100 sitting under my ridiculously overpriced TV? Well it's a long story.

Pros cheap, feature rich, decent playback and recording.
Cons questionable reliability, ugly interface, stolen design.
Recommended it? No

During my usual casual browsing of HHGregg's web site I saw this model on sale for $69. This was just about a week after the latest DVD recorder I bought from Walmart - an RCA, which I kind of liked, but then I didn't, so just that I don't miss on something good I had to run to HHGregg and pick one... Pros Simple, easy to use, feature rich and awesome.
Cons Cost. The price is a little high, but well worth it.
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased this unit to replace my dieing Panasonic DMR-T3040. Within the first 5 minutes of use I knew I had a much better product.
