Pros Automatic Calibration. Plenty of power. GUI interface on screen. Video upscaling. Dozens...
Cons Intermittent HDMI/DVI support- fix works 3/4 of the time. Cruddy remote. Impenetrable...
Recommended it? Yes

After seeing a Bose demonstration of their automatic speaker calibration, I wanted the feature given my horrible audio environment. However, I sought the Yamaha out as an alternative, given the Bose Lifestyle reviews.

I usually buy Sony, but their version of the calibrator only manages... Read full review »

Great A/V Receiver

Pros Plenty of power, plenty of inputs, great connections, great sound
Cons Heavy, complicated remote
Recommended it? Yes

Recently Bought this as a floor model- well not really, it was still wrapped up, just out of the box- it had never been used. So a huge discount convinced me to go for it. I was not disappointed. The 3800 comes with many high end features- HDMI input and out put, the latest HDMI, upscaling of... Read full review »

Pros Video upconversion to 1080p all through one HDMI output. Silent Cinema!
Cons Remote / Amplifier

Pros *options
*Sound
*pre-outs
*Extra subwoofer...
Cons For the price, nothing negative.
Recommended it? Yes

I actually own this unit, having purchased it to perform pre-processor duties for my two multichannel amps. It can be had for a much lower street price than the $649.00 MSRP. I paid $452.00 including S&H.

First, I am not a fan of the tiny amps in today’s receivers (I still have... Read full review »
