I bought this unit because I wanted to wake up to a CD rather than radio. This clock radio has some innovative features for an alarm clock. Bought this Clock Radio yesterday. My previous SONY clock radio was 30 years old but had no battery back-up. It still works except for the lack of a battery back up.

The alarm adjustments are very intuitive and easy. The adjustable backlight is also great. However it does have an analog FM tuner, so if you live in a busy FM area, forget about having your channel stay tuned in cleanly.
