Cons no noticeable video improvements through HDMI, annoying pops from optical audio connection

I currently own DVP-NS975V unit which has been a good universal player except for its known firmware bugs (i.e. sudden tray-lock and very slow responses) in its earlier production run. Good-Great picture with HDMI but... Sony cheaped out a little for an ES piece. All the new silver ES pieces to this point had the new embossed SONY logo on the front panel which was very cool. I got this a while back, and it still works great. i love the rotating screen, the buttons are easy to press, and the dvd player is pretty sturdy. the picture is pretty good, and the sound is clear. for $100 this is a very good deal. the only problem is that if you loose the charger its very hard...
