DCR-IP220 - Good ergonomics, but unproven tape format

bydougb59 Nov 17, 2002
10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Small size. Good ergonomics. Screen on back. Still photos. Compact tapes & batteries.
Cons Expensive. MicroMV format may or may not equal MiniDV. Lens could be more wide-angle.
Recommended it? Yes

I wound up buying the new DCR-IP220 just before leaving for a vacation that included a few days visiting historical sites in the gloomy midwestern U.S. (Missouri and Illinois), and a week on sunny Grand Cayman in the Caribbean.

Overall, I'm pleased with the camcorder, but bear in mind... Read full review »

Pros Very portable with high quality results given the cost.
Cons Touch pad could be a little more responsive or replaced with buttons.

I purchased the Samsung HMX_U10 Camcorder to take with me hunting. I've had a few instances where something crossed my path that I would have loved to have captured on video.
The ease of use and the quality of the video were very surprising.  The optional software is built right into... Read full review »
