Having had my old DVD player die on me, I went down to the local consumer electronics store and bought this DVD player. It was actually about mid-ranged in price for their DVD players, but I did notice a big gap in the players available between the 40-70 dollar price range and then the 120 dollar... incorrect disc problem

Pros Looks nice and it did work for over ninety days
Cons Seems to fail fairly frequently and the user is given no recourse.
Recommended it? No

As in many of the other review I have just read, it worked fairly well for over the warranty period but suddenly it takes forever to load and then reads "incorrect disc" which is not included in the troubleshooting section of the manual.

Pros Very easy to set up and operate, plays DVDs, CDs, and MP3s, extra functions
Cons Some style issues, CD track blue screen tends to be shaky

Pros Lots of support for multiple disc and video formats.
Cons Cheap display. Complex drive mechanism has bad failure mode.
Recommended it? No

I bought this at Costco for $45 because an existing Toshiba DVD player was beginning to have trouble playing brand-new undamaged discs.
