Pros All that you pay for and a little more. Good feature set.
Cons S-L-O-W. No HDMI.
Recommended it? No

I have a rule when it comes to electronics. Buy the best. Before buying anything I read a lot, browse a lot, research everything and consider all of the major brands. So how come I've got a Protron PD-DVR100 sitting under my ridiculously overpriced TV? Well it's a long story.

Pros cheap, feature rich, decent playback and recording.
Cons questionable reliability, ugly interface, stolen design.
Recommended it? No

During my usual casual browsing of HHGregg's web site I saw this model on sale for $69. Pros Built In Fan which prolongs life<br>VHS player is in synch with DVD
Cons No pass through of signal and sound when unit is turned off
