The Perfect Pocket Camera

bykdragon May 22, 2005
10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Fast, small, and great picture clarity.
Cons No optical zoom and no optical viewfinder.
Recommended it? Yes

This is my third Canon digital camera. I previously owned the PowerShot S110 and the PowerShot S200. Although this camera lacks an optical zoom, its size and weight more than make up for the lack of this feature.

The camera is small enough to fit comfortably in almost any pocket and its... Read full review »

10 Helpfuls 11 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Size, beautiful design, simple to use.
Cons No viewfinder (and a fragile screen), digital zoom damages picture quality.
Recommended it? Yes

With the new sd20, Canon have managed to create a design that has a genuine pick-me-up appeal - The sort of charm that's only been achieved by the likes of Apple, Nike and Nokia.

It's small - small enough to fit in a cigarette pack and have spare room, or to carry in a pocket. But even... Read full review »

Pros Fast, stylish, ultra compact, user friendly, very good image quality, and ISO 50
Cons Mediocre battery life, red-eye problems, chromatic aberration, and noisy ISO 400 images
Recommended it? Yes

One of the digital imaging revolution's most fascinating high-tech product developments was the ultra compact digital camera. Canon has dominated that very popular marketing niche since the first micro-cams hit store shelves and the new Canon Powershot SD500 continues that tradition. The SD500... Read full review »

Cons Weak Flash, Pictures not as sharp as some larger 7 MP cameras, Weak Battery
Recommended it? Yes

My brother got lucky for his birthday... he's getting a new iPod Mini from me and a brand spanking new SD500 from my parents. Now he has stuff to make me a bit envious of him in the world of high tech... including his new Infiniti G35. Well, he worked hard for it.
