Speaker test needs a fix, as does 100Hz crossover for analog multi-channel audio output.

One day in and I can't find a much of a downside to this player.
Hooked up via component (sorry no HDMI on either my TV or AV Receiver) to a 1080i 65" Mitsubishi WS-65907 (viewed from 12 feet) via an Onkyo TX-DS989.
No problems with playing back any media so far.

Yes
After trying out the Philips DVP5982 and 5960, I got the Pioneer DV-400V. The Philips was less expensive, but it has usability shortcomings and some DivX files were stuttering on it. The Pioneer is not a silver bullet, but it is much better in some aspects.

The Pioneer 400DV is a great DVD player with 1080p and 1080i upconversion, making regular DVD movies play in near high definition quality - near HD but not completely HD quality.
