Pioneer AVIC N2 is very user friendly. It has easy set up and equally easy navigation system. the voice quality is crisp. However, it is not very customizable but still is easy to use. the visual display is also good and has good vision angle. It also has good connectivity with iPod too.

Even though this is an older unit I purchased it as my entry into the navigation headunit scene. They can still be found new with some online searching, refurbished ones are also plentiful with prices ranging as high as 650 new and 350 for remanufactured ones online.
