Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-Ray Disc Player - Excellent But Pricey

bydkozin Dec 26, 2006
23 Helpfuls 24 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Excellent performance, picture quality playing both Blu-Ray and standard DVD, good remote
Cons Price
Recommended it? Yes

After being disappointed with some performance aspects of the Samsung DB-P1000 Blu-Ray High-Definition DVD player, I had to try the Panasonic DMP-BD10. Although it sells for almost twice the price of the Samsung, I expected better performance from it. The Samsung disappointed me with occasional... Read full review »

Best BluRay Offers

bysimplemoney Mar 12, 2007
16 Helpfuls 17 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Relatively fast load times, 7 channel analog, good upconversion
Cons No DTS-Master Audio, no bass management, lacks 1080/24p support, no SACD support,...
Recommended it? Yes

When you have an 1080p projector (see review here ) you want as many 1080p sources as you can get. IT CERTAINLY DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A BLURAY PLAYER!

byDennisM Nov 29, 2009
13 Helpfuls 14 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Very thin, wall mountable, unique design!
Cons Can not stack this unit, and it's too wide for standard rack with loading drawer!
Recommended it? Yes

I suppose as consumers, we all get used to various products. Refrigerators are tall and rectangle, ovens are sort of square, microwaves are rectangles, and BluRay players are those rectangular boxes!

That may have been true in the past, but no more. This Samsung BluRay BDP4600 looks nothing... Read full review »

ONE if not the BEST of it's era-except for 1 glitch

bydual1219 Sep 7, 2010
7 Helpfuls 8 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Expensive looks, high speed, and wifi enabled
Cons Doomed only if accidentally upgraded.
Recommended it? Yes

I guess it's about a year, or closing in, on the purchase of this unit.  I checked a lot of reviews when it was first introduced and the consensus was fabulous BUT DON'T UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE! One of the reviews indicated poor up-conversion on standard DVD's. I dis-agree -at least when... Read full review »
