We don't have cable, satellite, or any other pay-tv service, so when we were looking for DVD recorders, it had to have a tuner. That eliminated about 95% of the models on the market. Of those remaining, the Panasonic had the best reviews, so we picked it up over the summer and haven't looked...

We got this player for Christmas and we like it alot. It plays a quality picture, it is lightweight and compact. The only negative about this player is that it is slow to load. But otherwise, it is a great deal and a great price.
