Pros None. Panasonic is no longer the reliable company it used to be!
Cons 50% failure rate, old technology. Do not buy this deck. Check out the Magnavox MDR515H

I'm a film and video professional. I've worked in the business for over 25 years so I know equipment. I bought this deck to replace high quality Panasonic machines we've used over the years and finally wore out.

Pros Good manual, lots of options, great up-conversion, remote controls TV too

We don't have cable, satellite, or any other pay-tv service, so when we were looking for DVD recorders, it had to have a tuner. That eliminated about 95% of the models on the market. Of those remaining, the Panasonic had the best reviews, so we picked it up over the summer and haven't looked... Read full review »

I rec. one of these as a gift in Dec of 2009 from my wife.  When it works, it produces a great picture on our HD TV.  The problem is that some popular Blu-ray discs would not play on this player and I had to download and install new firmware from Sharp to get it to work even though the device was... If you're trying to get the new technology without blowing your budget, move on. This thing will leave your wallet $50 lighter but you won't have anything to show for it. If you get it to work, it takes forever. If you need it to work, good luck! Read full review »
