I attend a couple long telephone meetings every week and holding a handset to my ear for an hour at a time is not an option. Trying to hold it between my shoulder and ear is even worse. In fact, I got a pinched nerve in my neck from doing just this a few years ago

Got this Plantronics headset one year back, and it working great since then. Not a single issue any time. The sound quality is great too.
