Like the HS810, the HS850 makes use of a body design that employs a folding microphone boom. The folding microphone boom acts as the on and off switch, as well as just providing a convenient way to make the headset smaller and more pocketable when not in use. When a call comes into your phone, you can turn on and answer the phone at the same time just by unfolding the microphone boom. You can end the call and turn it off by removing the headset and re-folding it. Using the headset in this way conserves battery power, since no battery juice is wasted on standby time - time where the headset sits around waiting to be contacted by a mobile phone or other compatible device. The physical design of the HS850 and the battery savings it imparts is my favorite aspect of the Motorola HS850. Less

Recent legislation in the City of Chicago requires all persons in control of a vehicle to be required to use a hands free device if using a cell phone. This, along with the added benefit of ease of use with my BlackBerry 8700c I chose the Motorola HS850 to be able to be legal and add the... Read full review »

When I initially started to use my Blackberry 7290, I received complaints about the headset that came with it. Although the sound was clear on my end, I was told by many people that it sounded like I was going through a tunnel. I remembered that my father had bought a Motorola Bluetooth Headset... Pros Astounding noise canceling capabilities and mute button add great confidence when talking...
Cons Cord long enough to hang yourself with, and ear gels that fall off over time.

I've had the v4 since it came out. I ordered it on 7/20/05, but it was a long time coming. There was had a large time gap between the sell out of the previous model, and the availability of the new one. All of my headsets had been noise canceling, but a truthful description for all of them would be... Read full review »
