Logitech's MARBLE MOUSE is one of the most useful pieces of hardware you can get for a desktop PC.  I have one of the earlier models (from about 2000) - and I cannot distinguish it from some of the model and catalog numbers that Logitech now uses;  mine still works fine.

I have 2 laptops, 3 desktops and I use this on every one of them. My hand never gets tired, I don't have Carpal Tunnel.  The only fatigue I get is from a heavy gaming night my thumb gets a little sore. Pros ease of operation, wireless, easy setup, mouse/trackball in one, comfortable fit to hand.

I have been using Logitech thumb trackball since 1998 when I was in still in college. The reason why I bought the trumb trackball because I had a small desk in college and it was very difficult to move a regular mouse on my desk.
