Pros Good range, high performance somewhat resistant to nearby WiFi interference
Cons Crappy Netgear Smart Wizard software<br>

This MIMO Netgear WPN511 RangeMax Wireless CardBus PC Card Type II slot offer better range when used with a matching router. In my opinion, the major flaw with this lies with the software offer by Netgear. The driver for this adapter works extremely well without the Netgear trashy configuring Smart... Read full review »

Pros Good range and speed, consistent connection.
Cons Price, sticks out a little further than I'd like.

My router (an SMC 802.11G router) is on the third floor and I'm using this card in my notebook on the first floor and I get 7-8 out of 8 "dots" on the signal strength meter and consistently connect at 54 Mbps. I went to Walmart yesterday and picked this up for $39.97. My laptop charger stopped working so my husband set me up a desktop in my office. So instead of having to run wire under the house at $24.95 for 50 feet we decided to do the wireless. He hooked it up in 2 minutes flat and it worked great... Read full review »

My wife bought the Linksys WMP54G wireless adapter and it went into my son's Dell running Windows XP, which is five years old or so. Linksys says it has  a rangemark of 1x and a speedmark of 1x on the box, meaning this is a run-of-the-mill product for them, nothing fancy. You need a 500mhz... Read full review »
