Pros Inexpensive, Compact, No silly blue lights.
Cons No sleep mode, fan noise, limited to USB 2.0 ONLY.
Recommended it? Yes

The LaCie 500GB USB 2.0 drive is built with no pretensions for what it is- it is a storage device. And a storage device is more useful if it is more flexible, takes up less space, and doesn't prohibit options. It seemed like a good deal - 500 GB (well, 465 GB actually but you know how these things work) for $119.99 CDN as a 'Door Crasher' at FutureShop - I was looking for a back-up system so I grabbed one.
