Pros HP support. Smooth operation. Wide range of supported media - including Double Layer DVD...
Cons It would have been nice if they'd included some useful application software.
Recommended it? Yes

Having recently purchased a Mini-DV camcorder, I wanted to be able to transfer my movies to DVD for permanent storage and to allow me to view my epics on the small screen. Rapidly falling prices for burners and for optical media have prompted me to install a DVD drive on my home computer.

Pros Auto firmware upgrade, easy installation, no failure rate
Cons Bundled software did not perform to my satisfaction - made a dvd with choppy audio
Recommended it? Yes

I have only had the unit 2 weeks and so far it is working well. It came with software that I tried but didn't like, I have found 3rd party software that works better and I like better.
