Pros Good quality digital recordings; time slip feature
Cons Remote buttons are not intuitive; DVDs are moderate resolution. Defective circuitry.

UPDATE May 26 2008: After sending my DVD recorder back to Toshiba twice, they decided to send me this year's model (number 560). Pros Looks good in all black and records sharp picture.
Cons Defective circuitry causes Fan motor to turn on, sometimes.

Pros Built In Fan which prolongs life<br>VHS player is in synch with DVD
Cons No pass through of signal and sound when unit is turned off
