Cons Cord long enough to hang yourself with, and ear gels that fall off over time.

I've had the v4 since it came out. I ordered it on 7/20/05, but it was a long time coming. There was had a large time gap between the sell out of the previous model, and the availability of the new one. Pros Beautiful sound, good choice of earplugs, thoughtful design
Cons No volume control, expensive (for the hobbyist), for $200 an extension cord would be nice.
Recommended it? Yes

The hf2 headsets are exactly what Etymotic advertises.  There are no enhancements of highs and lows, only what sounds to be a nearly perfect reproduction of what the artist recorded in the studio.

Pros Sound clarity, Sound separation, passive noise cancellation, even sound band
Cons fragile, less expansive sound, less bass, no pre-blending.  content quality matters
Recommended it? Yes

Etymotic takes a very different stance from many other headphone and canalphone makers out there.  They've taken their sound technology in almost the opposite direction as everyone else.
