Pros Beautiful sound, good choice of earplugs, thoughtful design
Cons No volume control, expensive (for the hobbyist), for $200 an extension cord would be nice.
Recommended it? Yes

The hf2 headsets are exactly what Etymotic advertises.  There are no enhancements of highs and lows, only what sounds to be a nearly perfect reproduction of what the artist recorded in the studio.

Cons fragile, less expansive sound, less bass, no pre-blending.  content quality matters

Etymotic takes a very different stance from many other headphone and canalphone makers out there.  They've taken their sound technology in almost the opposite direction as everyone else.
