The ER-4 MicroPro(tm) earphones from Etymotic are the next best thing to live music, with noise isolation far surpassing that of active-noise-reduction earphones. Great light weigh headphones

bydreammaker182 Jan 16, 2007

Pros light weight, comfortability, dynamic range and trebble
Cons short thin cord, lacks the bass of other headphones of this catagory.
Recommended it? Yes

These headphones are really lightweight and have a really good dynamic range. You will not miss any trebble tone with these headphones. The bass is a bit weak but the UR-40's make up for this with comfort and low noise inside or out of the earcups. The only thing that I would change about these... Read full review »

The Purchase

I had been looking for some new headphones to replace my Sony MDR-D22s. The Sonys sounded fine, but they were too big for me to carry around with my mp3 CD player. The Sonys were also semi-open, meaning that some sound leaked in from outside, and some of my music leaked out... Read full review »

B is for bright!

Pros Great with binaural recordings
Cons very limited use, bright with stereo recordings
Recommended it? Yes

The Etymotic ER4B is the most specialized of Etymotics 3 ear phones. Designed to work with binaural recordings, their equalization circuit compensates for the rolled off high frequencies lost due to the binaural process. These recordings use a dummy head with microphones in the ears to record the... Read full review »
