The Wireless-N Gigabit Router is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex Gigabit Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. Less

Excellent and underrated little router

Pros Wireless N (3 internal-antennas), Gigabit switch, fast, good value, looks nice
Cons Runs hot, takes up desk-space (UFO shape)
Recommended it? Yes

I had a dilemma, much like many of you may have faced or are currently facing: my current router had died. It was a fantastic router, a Netgear wireless N with gigabit ports, and I purchased it refurbished. It had lasted fine for about a year, when finally it just refused to work, only the power... D-Link DIR-601 - great budget router

byjjbraunius Mar 23, 2011

Pros Price, configuration, stable
Cons less range than most 2 antenna routers
Recommended it? Yes

Rushing out to renew an agingWRT54GL router, I was pretty much left at the mercy of the local CompUsa, and their selection was for the most part way above my budget. Having paid $50 for the Linksys I was loath to get the same router at $80 so decided to take a chance on the D-Link DIR-601, which... Read full review »

More like a 802.11g+ router, not really "n"

Pros Speed boost over 802.11g. Consumes less power than older D-Link routers. Improved...
Cons Speed boost is marginal. Router does not provide range improvement. Definitely not...
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this unit on black friday at $20 to replace an old (but working) 802.11g D-Link router (DI-524) to hopefully add 802.11n speeds.  While the unit works and is an upgrade to the previous unit, I would hardly consider this a "true" 802.11n unit.

First, and most importantly, the... Read full review »
