No need to open case(USB). Strong signal. Simple installation with XP.

Yes
This adapter has one of the strongest signals of any wireless adapter I've used. I have always used it with the cradle. Router is in the basement and the adapter has been used upstairs. It out-performs the Linksys wmp54g and a couple of D-Link 520's which are being used upstairs also.

I've purchase this D-Link WUA 2340 USB "G" Wi-Fi adapter for computer diagnostics and repairs on computers that doesn't have a built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, in locations in my house where I have no access to ethernet connectivity.
