Compaq 3850... nice design than the 3760 but still lacking.

byyusakugo Dec 27, 2001
69 Helpfuls 70 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Pocket PC 2002, nice design, SD/MMC slot, reliable design
Cons lacks features, still too much like original iPAQ design, no CF slot.
Recommended it? Yes

Well, the iPAQ 3850 has alot of similarities to the 3100, 3600, and 3700 series iPAQs but has a few features that puts it above those models... but not by much. There are two basic models... the 3835 and the 3850. There is no major difference in the hardware specifications for these models. The... Read full review »

Pros Solid design, latest OS, lots of memory, high userability
Cons No CF slot, the OS sometimes does nutty things. Expensive
Recommended it? Yes

The older I?ve gotten, the more I?ve realized that I need those ?gadgets? that I?ve chided my friends for using years ago. You know what I?m talking about? cell phones? PDAs? laptops? The type of stuff that you would never rightly get on your own for school. Well, it?s now time to add another item... Read full review »

Pros Small, light, beautiful screen, delight to use
Cons Too new (explained below)
Recommended it? Yes

I'm a Palm user and always have been (6 years). I've owned the III, V and Vx. I loved my Vx but wanted a new PDA, so I went in the market and tried the Tungsten, Ipaq 5450 and 1910. The nice return policies most vendors give you is perfect for research. Most will offer you 14 days for a full... Read full review »

The cheapest iPAQ is the best?

Pros Beautiful high-contrast screen, very small and portable, SD expansion slot
Cons Lack of options, no standard cradle
Recommended it? Yes

Having been a previous iPAQ owner (model 3650: see my other review), I was skeptical when I saw that they had released a lower cost PocketPC. Then one day at the local electronics store, a small narrow PDA with a great screen caught my eye. It had the HP logo on the bottom and then I noticed the... Read full review »
