I bought this dvd player because I had alot of old dvds which I wanted to watch on my hdtv. It does a pretty good job upconverting them to near 1080p hd quality. It also has a USB connection...you can connect a flashdrive or even an external hard drive and run various media files from that. Overall...

I rec. one of these as a gift in Dec of 2009 from my wife. When it works, it produces a great picture on our HD TV. The problem is that some popular Blu-ray discs would not play on this player and I had to download and install new firmware from Sharp to get it to work even though the device was...

If you're trying to get the new technology without blowing your budget, move on. This thing will leave your wallet $50 lighter but you won't have anything to show for it. If you get it to work, it takes forever. If you need it to work, good luck!
