Cooking technology in your kitchen with the 50922 Circulon Induction Burner. Marvel your friends and guests with dishes prepared using the most even and consistent source of heat available — your own pans. Induction cooking makes it happen. Induction cooking uses electromagnetic energy to turn a pan into the heat source. Instead of heating the area under a pan like a traditional gas or electric burner, induction cooktops heat the pan directly. Oscillating induction coils are set underneath the ceramic glass cooktop. The coils are connected to an electronic power source that when activated generate a magnetic field. When a pan with a magnetized base is placed on the burner, the oscillating magnetic field causes the electrons in the bottom of the pan to move back and forth rapidly. Pros Fast cooking, energy savings, cool surface, easy cleaning.
Cons Some favorite cookware does not work on an induction cooker, flimsy control panel.
Recommended it? Yes

   I was watching a chef demonstrate an induction cooker and began researching various units. I chose this one because I liked the shape and it seemed to have all the features I required. I paid $196.00 for this one on amazon.com and the shipping was free.

I just received it having bought it at Crate & Barrel Sale (US) as the "Meyer Induction Burner" for 50% less than Amazon.  When I received it, the box said Infinite Circulon Portable Induction Burner Model 50922.  Pictures on both websites look exactly the same.
