The Canon PowerShot SD630/Digital IXUS65 Digital Camera - The Micro-Cam comes of age

byHoward_Creech Jun 30, 2006
109 Helpfuls 110 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Fast, stylish, ultra compact, user friendly, huge 3.0" LCD screen, excellent photo...
Cons Mediocre battery life, chromatic aberration, noisy ISO 800 images, vignetting, redeye, no...
Recommended it? Yes

The first Micro-cam I ever saw was a classic Rollei 35S. Since falling in love with that wonderfully primitive little 35mm scale focuser (almost forty years ago) I've witnessed an amazing evolution in diminutive image making machines. Tiny cameras today capture images digitally (rather than on... Read full review »

A Great Camera That I Cannot Recommend To Anyone

bynoangels May 4, 2006
36 Helpfuls 37 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Amazing picture quality, tons of features, large screen, cheap memory cards, price
Cons No Viewfinder (this camera is allergic to sunlight)
Recommended it? No

What? Why would someone give a camera 5 stars and not recommend that anyone buy it? Let me explain....

Why I Give The SD630 Five Stars...

Cheap but effective - The Vivitar ViviCam 8025

byteamfreak16 Sep 4, 2011
33 Helpfuls 34 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Affordability, easy to use
Cons Only 8 mega pixels, cheap plastic construction might not be as durable
Recommended it? Yes

Sometimes, it’s true: you get what you pay for. Once in awhile, though, being cheap pays off. In this case, I got off very cheap when I purchased Vivitar’s ViviCam 8025 at Walmart for $35.00. And while at thirty-five bucks it’s obviously not the best digital camera on the market,... Read full review »

Disappointed with Zoom feature

bylakishae Dec 7, 2009
5 Helpfuls 6 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros It's compact, lightweight and comes with a sturdy carrying case.
Cons Color quality is poor and any zoomed-in on images are fuzzy.
Recommended it? No

I purchased this camera from Walmart for 59.99. I was looking for an inexpensive quality camera. Unfortunately, I did not find the quality I was looking for in the VIviCam 8025. There was no need for the camera-maker to provide a zoom option if the picture is not viewable. The color quality is not... Read full review »
