The Coolpix S5 has been specially designed to be visually appealing as well as easy to use. The eye-catching wave-surface designs is about more than just great styling--its thin, compact dimensions and form make the Coolpix S5 really comfortable to hold. The Coolpix S5 boasts a one-touch portrait button, conveniently located at the top of the camera body, making it much simpler to take better quality pictures by offering easy access to Nikon's unique Face-priority AF, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, and D-Lighting functions. With Face-priority AF, the camera can automatically detect people's faces in the frame, no matter where they are located, to produce sharply focused portraits. Less

Nikon Just Can't get it Right

Pros Small, skips easily on a lake surface!
Cons Poor focus, mediocre speed, soft optics, requires expensive Nikon batteries.
Recommended it? No

Handling
Much like the S1, slim, harder to hold for big hands... Read full review »

Technology is a great thing. Whether deflation is here is a subject of debate among economists. If properly defined as a contraction of money supply and credit, then it is. I have recently purchased the Canon 500D, I bought the standard kit so came with the main body, 18-55mm lens (with covers), battery, battery charger and camera strap (need to purchase SD card/memory card separately).
