How easy is this? Just select what you want to do with your original-scan, copy, or create email attachments or PDFs-and the entire process is automated. The new Auto Scan Mode detects your type of original, then scans and saves it with the optimal settings. Your results will be outstanding, with color dpi resolution up to 4800 x 4800, and you can also create fabulous 19200 x 19200 software-enhanced interpolated scans. Plus, a letter-sized color scan takes only about 14 seconds2. The Advanced Z-Lid lets you produce clear, complete scans of thick originals such as notebooks. And to reduce "cable clutter," one simple cable provides power and a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection. Less

The HP 8270 has flaws but gets the job done

bytwofish72 Jan 18, 2008

Pros lots of functions, good scan quality
Cons slower than advertised, speed heavily dependent on your computer
Recommended it? Yes

A decision was made at my workplace to digitize all paperwork that was to be archived. In the computer age of today, the fastest way of doing so, is to get a good scanner and turn everything into a PDF document. So far so good. Since the amount of paperwork to be scanned is not overly big, a... Read full review »

Buyer Beware

Pros Marketing lierature looks great. Maybe it would be acceptable if I were scanning photos.
Cons Slow and image quality poor. Not suited for production scanning.
Recommended it? No

If you use the ADF, expect 112-179 seconds per side at 600 DPI. Then, all the images appear very light. I tried all the software included in the package... Read full review »

WHAT'S THE 411 ON THIS PRODUCT?

First, let me say that for many years, I've trusted Hewlett Packard from the very first time that I bought my very first inkjet printer by them back in '96. Back then, I trusted no one else but HP. All of the inkjet printers were HP and the scanner I got... Read full review »
