The AS-P400 is a high powered active subwoofer designed for use in high powered Audio Video systems, like a system comprised of AUDITION Series speakers from athena TECHNOLOGIES?. A custom designed 400 watt peak, 100 watt RMS amplifier drives the over built 10" Injection Molded polypropylene woofer, both built in house in athena's Toronto facility. The cabinet is a front firing, front vented design which allows for much easier room placement than traditional rear vented designs. Less

I have used the subwoofer from the Athena Point Five speaker package for about a year and change and then bought a replacement: the Athena AS-P400 for $173.

Pros Great sound, powerful bass, low price.
Cons Sounds a little sloppy below 35 hz

I originally bought this sub about 1 year ago for parties at my house. While in college I wanted a high powered sub while still staying below $500.
