Pros Practical all in one
Cons If it worked would be great.

The phone was never very good, and today, it simply stopped working, you pick it up and there is only noise. It doesn't recognize the base and there is no line, only noise. Run from it. Read full review »

The AT&T CL4939 is NOT A GOOD CHOICE for a ANSWERING MACHINE/PHONE.

Pros Independent volume controls.  Strong speakerphone and good sound
Cons No backlight. Confusing user interface. Better choices are out there.

The CL4939 seems like a  straightforward design at first, but, it has numerous shortcomings, which should have been ironed out in the design stage.
