Cons: Bare minimum editing options.

The Bottom Line: If you need to convert VHS tapes to DVDs and you want it easy and don't care about adding menus & chapters and such, I recommend this unit!

Pros: Wonderful reproduction of commercial DVDs to our Pioneer Plasma.

Cons: Very slow to load. Minimal manual control of playback without remote and screen.

Pros: Upconversion, ease of use, nice VCR, great digital tuner, tons of recording speeds.

Cons: DEFECTIVE DVD player signal processor. Digital artifacts in ALL DVD output.

The Bottom Line: Not a bad unit, except mine was DEFECTIVE, made in China, DO NOT BUY SONY if it's made in CHINA. Would like to record on DVD-RAM. Is Panasonic better?
