I wasted my money on this one!!!!

Pros: I can't think of any
Cons: Horrible HD Picture by comparison. Speakers rattle. Service from RCA is unacceptable.

The bottom line: I wouldn't give this TV to my worst enemy.

The RCA R52WH73 52 in. HDTV Television was not the best purchase I’ve every made. I purchased the TV less than two years ago and the television has already been to the shop and really needs to be there again. At first glance this is a great TV with a great picture but reality is rarely revealed by a glance. Just a little technical info for those of you that don’t have this knowledge, a rear projection TV works on three tubes Red Blue and Green. These tubes project a picture on the viewing screen from behind. The three tubes must be converged (lined up) in order to receive a good picture quality. This unit has an inherent problem with the automatic convergence system. When not converged properly the picture will have an overlay effect of either red or blue, the green tube is constant and is not adjustable. The convergence board in this TV keeps going out do it requires attention every 3 or 4 days and even then the picture is not perfect. The sound quality is acceptable at best if there is any bass in the TV show or movie there is a horrible rattle.
Service from RCA is unacceptable. The convergence board and focus board went out after less than a year and the TV was still under warranty. It took RCA 3 weeks to find a repair shop and that shop was over 75 miles from my home. Even though I found multiple RCA certified repair shops right in town RCA refused to allow them to fix the TV. At first they told me that they were sorry but there was not local repair shop and therefore they would not honor the warranty. It took the threat of a lawsuit to get any response to my pleas for help. The TV has not been right since it returned from the repair shop and since the year had passed I was told the TV was no longer under warranty and the repair would have to do unless I wanted to pay to have it fixed properly. I will never purchase another RCA product again after this experience. For $1100.00 this TV should have a finer picture and a better sound system. Even if RCA is going to release a less than acceptable piece of merchandise it could at least continue to work at the poor performance level it came with for a few years before the consumer has to consider a shopping for a replacement. Overall I wouldn’t suggest this TV to anyone.
