Pros: price, picture, fairly quiet, what else is there?
Cons: Manual focus instead of electronic I suppose, but I'm getting picky
The bottom line: Get one, because if you are like me 900 bucks is a large investment and I don't want to be the least bit disappointed. I wasn't disappointed at all.
I am a first time projector owner and I have owned the Optoma HD70 for a year. I read and read and read on all kinds of different projectors and I wasn't interested spending a bunch of money either. I read a few reviews and was impressed with the black level specs for this price range and decided . . . sink or swim with this projector idea. Boy am I glad I did. I have gone to the movie theatre maybe twice since I've bought the HD70. I can't tell you how much I love watching movies on my HD70. When my friends come to watch they are blown away by how good it looks, they can't believe how sharp the picture is. This purchase is one of the best purchases I have made in a decade. Optoma has one loyal customer after making this bad boy. If you've been thinking about a projector in your home and haven't quite made that decision, you can have peace of mind with this one. I did and after a year I'm still excited about this projector. If the wife has doubts, just be a man, make the decision, and she will be glad you did (lol). I know my wife wasn't sure about it, but once she saw that big beautiful picture she had no complaints. I can't believe you're still reading this, go get one!!
