Multi-functional printers not supported by PS121
Pros: Small, simple, affordable
Cons: Printing to USB multi-function printers is not supported despite specifications and product description Full review After spending fruitless hours following the installation instructions, giving up on the long wait of phone support, and waiting 2-3 days for e-mail response, Netgear informed me in a terse reply that my Brother MFC-8500 was not on their tested list and no multifunctional printers would work with the PS121. This was a shock and disappointment given that the PS121 retail package clearly stated that it would work with "all USB printers" and the inside material made no mention of multi-functional printers. Netgear tech support immediately closed my trouble ticket after sending the useless e-mail and has not responded to my e-mail last week asking for clarification. I don't need scanning, faxing either direction, or anything to occur between my PC and my Brother MFC-8500 except USB printing. Oh, and without the packaging, the PS121 is not returnable to my local CompUSA. |
