Pros: Top-shelf performance, attractive cosmetics, Beltronics quality
Cons: Flashy exterior a beacon to would-be thieves, prohibitive cost for the casual user
The Bottom Line: A great performing detector with upgradeable software gives it room to grow. manufacturer's current pricing strategy gives an advantage over its competitors. Give it a look!

Pros: High quality, excellent features, bright LED display visible in sunlight, solid detection performance, voice alerts.
Cons: Expensive. Some falsing (minimal). My cel phone (Palm Treo 600) sets off the detector.
The Bottom Line: I am very impressed with this unit. 180 degrees better than the Bel 995 I recently returned.

Pros: Awesome Range, Great Value, Good voice, Good Pop Warning!
Cons: Rear coverage lacking, red LEDs, no direction indicators.
The Bottom Line: Best value. Spend the money, you wont regret performance and it is cheaper-better than a V-1 and on par with latest 8500 (same company)

Pros: Rare false alerts even with POP turned on. Ability to turn off certain radar bands.
Cons: Wish that Bel would package with a soft case, and a hardwire kit.
The Bottom Line: Great radar detection range. I would recommend to anyone who has a need for a solid performing radar detector that doesn't false constantly.
