The technology at the center of this set is a proprietary Digital Light Engine named TALEN (Toshiba Advanced Light Engine) designed and manufactured by Toshiba. This new system utilizes Texas Instruments' new step-up HD2+ chip to provide high resolution with enhanced brightness and contrast. At less than 16 inches deep, these sets have a flat panel like appearance and occupy considerably less space than traditional rear projection sets. The new line of DLP PTVs also employs the new TheaterFine DFP Screen technology with a Digital Fine Pitch and Anti-Glare Coating that results in incredible detail and noticeably deeper blacks. There is even the new Radiance DC Lamp technology with high brightness and lower power modes (for extended life), and a unique Instant Restart feature that allows the sets to restart instantly after power down. Additionally, all Integrated HDTV models feature the Toshiba Seine Processor.
