The bottom line: Great place to shop for photography equipment!
Cameraworld.com is a great online merchant for photography equipment. When looking for a SLR camera for my son, I did a lot of surfing, and ended up making a purchase through cameraworld.com. Subsequently, I have purchased some other items from them, and every transaction has been a pleasant one. More importantly, when I needed additional information, I called them and felt that the sales rep was well informed about photography (I'm only a rank amature) and didn't just try to make a sale. Consequently, cameraworld.com is on my list of merchants to check when I am looking for camera gear. From the comparison shopping I have done, cameraworld.com isn't always the cheapest price...but if I'm not sure of the merchant, I would rather pay a few dollars more at a reputable merchant. The internet is a tremendous tool for comparison shopping...but it has also provided a meca for some shady merchants...which is why Epinions.com provides such a helpful service!

And, a word of advice about camera shopping. I strongly suggest that you make sure the merchant you choose is an authorized dealer for the product you are buying. There are a lot of dealers selling "gray market" merchandise which may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty....although it may be covered by some other dealer warranty. This is a very common practice in the photo business. When I purchased a Pentax ZX-7 for my son, I knew that camerawold.com was an authorized dealer...and my warranty would be through Pentax. PLEASE....PLEASE....make sure you read carefully when shopping online, especially about warranties, return policies, etc. One mistake, and you can be risking some big bucks!
