DON'T TRUST THEM FOR MAIL IN REBATES!!!
Full review > > I'll never trust TigerDirect.com again! Especially their rebates! If you get an email with an incredible deal but its with a mail in rebate, DON'T TRUST IT!!!! They hide details so that you wont qualify for the rebate AFTER you have made the purchase!!! > > I fell for this and know from experience just like many others listed here in Epinions.com!!! I bought an HP printer that was suppose to come with a $50 rebate, but not until after printing the rebate and purchasing the printer did I find out that it was only if I bought any computer WITH the printer. > > So I read the fine print of the rebate again and nowhere did it say I had to purchase both at the same time, so I took a look at what TigerDirect.com had as far as computers even though I wasn't really in the market yet to buy another computer. Well, I did find a refurbished one at a really good price and after a lot of consideration I went for it. After all I would at least get the $50 rebate now that sweetened the deal, or so I thought! > > Now I find out after trying to check the status of the rebate that there WAS a stipulation of buying both the same day! I know it did NOT say that when I bought the stuff because I looked for it!!! What I didn't know is they hide CRITICAL details of the rebate on a totally different page and is not listed on either the emailed sales pitch, main description page, or in the rebate that you print up!!!! > > Whats worse is if I send the stuff back, I wont get all my money back,(shipping and restocking Fees) and most likely I wont see the rebate either!!! I called and all I get is "wait and see if the rebate goes through." Yeah right!!! Give it 6 yo 8 weeks so that I'm past the time frame to return the stuff. > > Luckily, both the computer and the printer are working fine so far, except the usual gripes with Windows Vista's incompatibility problems, but I getting that figured out. what burns me is I would have never bought this stuff if they wouldn't have pulled the wool over my eyes!!! To me thats BAD BUSINESS!!! > > They might have gotten me for about $550 today (which should have been $500) but they lost me as a return customer and I've spent about ten times that amount at NewEgg.com who seem to be more honest to me. This is why I'll stick with NewEgg.com and Geeks.com other places that are more up-front and honest for now on!!!! |
