Hassle, hassle, hassle, then...nothing. <br> <br> I tried to order a hard drive through CompUSA's Web site. <br> <br> Firstly, this is the first vendor I've dealt with who has a policy that I must register a shipping address with my credit card company if it is different than my billing address. CompUSA, check out amazon.com. They don't require that! <br> <br> So, I navigated my credit card company's phone tree and went through the bother of registering my work address with Visa. <br> <br> Then, back to emailing CompUSA. <br> <br> I asked them to re-try the credit card billing. It failed. Why? Who knows. <br> <br> So, I emailed CompUSA asking them to change the shipping address to my home address in order to minimize the hassles. They repied with a terse, "Will do". <br> <br> 12 days later I have not received my "usually ships within 1-2 days" product. Furthermore, the Web site order status said nothing about the status of this order. <br> <br> At this point I sent two emails asking order status. <br> <br> No replies. <br> <br> What a weird, dysfuncational company. <br> <br> What a hassle. <br> <br> All for nothing.

Placed online order Aug 5 for $177 worth of computer equipment (after receiving email about special sale) - As of today, Aug 22, have not received order. Called 3 times - no information on order status. Emailed - still no information on order (said they would contact warehouse) <br> <br>

I am upset after traveling 1/2 hour to a store for an in-store ONLY item, to find that the item is sold out. The Web site incorrectly indicated it was in stock at that store. An employee told me customers had been asking for it, but it had been out of stock for DAYS. <br> <br> When I arrived at the store I found myself waiting behind another customer who was also upset about this problem happening with a DIFFERENT item: Web site says store has item, but it is out of stock. <br> <br> After blowing an hour in traffic for nothing other than a misleading advertisement, I won't be coming back to CompUSA for a while. The other customer I met at the store felt the same way. <br> <br> Compusa, you need to fix your retail store stock status on Compusa.com. It is simply inaccurate. You also need to do something for customers who were inconvenienced by the misleading information. <br>

I have a CompUSA Store right by my house, but I barely go there, because I never can find anything worth buying. When I needed a new phone for my house, I couldn't find the one that I liked, so I went on-line. CompUSA on-line store has so much more to offer than my local store. I found the phone that I liked and already in a week it was outside my door. The delivery was fast and customer service great.

Absurd System--Don't Order from their Online Store!

I ordered a 17 inch LCD monitor online from CompUSA. I used a credit card and paid 2-day shipping fees. <br> <br> Two days later, I got an e-mail saying that my order had been canceled. <br> <br> When I inquired as to the reason behind the cancellation, I was told that my shipping address was different than my billing address. <br> <br> This was completely absurd to me. <br> <br> I proceeded to take my business elsewhere and bought my monitor that very day at CIRCUIT CITY.

Disappointing Customer Service

I tried to purchase a laptop online through www.CompUSA.com. I found that I was able to do a local pickup. When I went to the store it took forever for them get the laptop for me. Apparently, my order had to first be given to one of the salesmen Paul. Rather than answering my questions and explaining the store return policy, Paul hounded me for at least 15 minutes to purchase their warranty/protection plan. It was very uncomfortable and it was a HUGE inconvenience. <br> <br> After bringing my laptop home I found out that the power supply for the laptop was so big that it wouldn't fit into my laptop bag. So, I tried to return the laptop. Only then was I told that their return policy on "open" notebooks was that they only issue store credit. none of their other laptops really meet my needs. So, now I have a $1,000 store credit at a store I no longer like. If only Paul had clearly explained their store return policy I might have been a happy customer. Instead, I feel like I have been robbed...

I actually went into the CompUSA store, which was twenty-five minutes away from my house. I was lied to and mislead by the sales associate who sold me my product. The sales person informed me that if I had any problems, I would not have to deal with the manufacturer and that I could just bring my product into the store and they'd give me a new one. Well, I spent over $160 and my printer started malfunctioning less than 1 month after I purchased it. Did CompUSA care? NOT AT ALL. It was passed their 21 days, so I was on my own. I spoke to the store manager, and all he did was yell at me and treat me as if I were some child. He was completely and utterly rude and disrespectful. I literally had to speak to three different customer care reps at CompUSA's home office before someone would help me and all that person did was give me the number to HP and said, "Good Luck!" I am very dissatisfied with how CompUSA treats its customers.

I ordered a Compaq computer to be picked up at the Sacramento CompUSA store, and got a confirmation e-mail stating that the item will be waiting for me for up to 72 hours. When I got to the store the next day, the sales person informed me that the item was out of stock, and the manager wouldn't do anything to compensate for their mistake. Thus, they were lying when they e-mailed me that the item would be waiting for me. It's a very unprofessional company.

Big Rebates Bad Idea - (they forget to pay)

Bought a Samsung monitor at Compusa. The price was really good AFTER the $80 worth of rebates. The problem is they never send the rebates. I sent in the rebate form November 2005 and now it is March 2006. Global Fullfillment Services lists it on their webpage as in process for two months now. They just won't cut the check!

Two days ago, I had to take friends to the West Palm Beach Airport (100 mile round trip). While I was there, I stopped in at the Compusa and bought a $44.00 External Disk Enclosure. <br> <br> Out of the box, it was bad. The power would not stay on. So, today, I called the WPB store and asked them if I could just mail the product in with my receipt and they can refund me the money thereby saving me a 100 mile round trip and gas money which will cost almost as much as the unit. <br> <br> Compusa response. Nope. Have to bring it in. <br> <br> I will never shop there again. Furthermore, I don't think I will even shop Compusa online again due to this incident. Newegg.com here I come. <br> <br> Bob <br>

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

01/11/06 - In this weeks COMPUSA ad, they have a Olevia LT26HVE TV advertised for $499.00 after rebates. I went online and into my local Compusa to find that they company never had this item, were not sure if they would ever have this item, does not issue rainchecks, or offer substitutions. Complaints sent to their corporate office have gone unanswered. There seems to be nothing out there to keep Compusa for advertising items that they do not have in stock.

I was surprised to see so many negative reviews here. My first experience shopping online with CompUSA was terrific. Firstly, they had the best price on the product I was ordering (saved me 7 months waiting for a rebate), and the product was shipped for free and arrived the second business day after ordering! And this was Thanksgiving weekend. I ordered the night before Thanksgiving, and the product arrived early morning Saturday. Cannot beat that! <br> <br> As far as site navigation, shopping experience, etc, I noticed nothing frustrating or confusing about CompUSA's website. But with that said, nothing was exceptional either. A good, solid online store.

Best Return Policy Ever

CompUSA may not have the best prices all the time; but their return policy is top notch. I bought a $900 monitor from them, and after approximately 10 days use; I decided I wanted a bigger monitor. I boxed it up and brought it into a store; exchanged it, and they didn't ask a single question why. Not only that; Apple lowered the pricing on their monitors 10 days after my second purchase, so I brought the receipt back to the store; and they gave me a refund for the difference. Couldn't be any happier with my purchase! <br>

AWFUL

Terrible service. Took my brand new laptop in for a hard drive installation/upgrade, and they broke the motherboard!!! It then took them a week to fix (they had to send it to *real* technicians at Apple to get it fixed). The actually shipment and repair only took 2 days (DHL and Apple were extremely professional), but CompUSA took 5 days just to ship it out of their store! It was a terrible inconvenience to me. But when they finally got it back, they refused to even make a minimal demonstration of good faith by refunding my original upgrade fee. Yes, that's right - they broke my laptop, put it out of commission for a week, and still charged me full price for the HD installation!!! <br> <br> My friend also took his laptop in for a similar installation a week later (different CompUSA). While installing the hard drive, they bent his laptop's internal frame, scratched the case, and damaged a speaker connection. <br> <br> Bottom line: avoid CompUSA like the plague!

I ordered a pink ipod mini online. I received a blue ipod mini. The receipt received in the shipping box shows pink ipod. When customer service was called , they wanted me to ship the blue one back before they would ship the proper one. As this was a bday present, i was reluctant to ship it back. I asked about having the store swap the item, and they stated that the store "may or may not take it back". I called the store and they stated that they do not normally take back items ordered online. Also, I received a Sakar 3in1 kit with rebate. This item broke after two days of use. A Sorry experience all around.

I recently bought numerous items via their auction portal. It was fun and i purchased 2 Items via direct and thru 3 of their 3rd party vendors. <br> <br> I recieved my "refirbushed" computer and "used" speakers (delivered on time). THEY WERE BOTH STILL FACTORY SEALED!! They were not marked as used/refirbushed, and were wrapped up without a fingerprint or scratch on them. The only down side would be the 21Day Dead On Arival Warranty. However, I promptly went to the computer mfg's web-site and registered the item. They let me activate the full warranty, no mention of the item being listed as refirbushed. <br> <br> Now I WILL NOT say that this is normal or that anyone SHOULD expect new merchandise when buying product that is listed otherwise. I more than likely just got lucky, but oh the luck :+) <br> <br> The Items purchased through the 3rd parties were all delivered as promised, within a reasonable time, in the advertised condition. There was one problem with the credit card policy with one vendor, but this was an oversite on my part, the issue was resolved after a processing delay.

DON'T BUY REPLACEMENT WARRANTY - $250 LIE. THEY WILL NOT REPLACE UNLESS YOU HAVE SENT THE COMPUTER BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR REPAIR MORE THAN THREE TIMES IN A SPECIFIC TIME PERIOD. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN DEALING WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY, THEIR REPLACEMENT PLAN IS USELESS.
