After shopping at Circuit City and Best Buy for years and having mixed reviews with the both of them, I decided that I would give Compusa a shot. Well, let's just say that it was a decision I lived to regret. My first bad experience was after purchasing a monitor online and having it not arrive after two weeks of waiting. I went into the store to find out what the problem was thinking that maybe a store manager could help me. To his credit, the store manager was very helpful and matched the price I had received online. So i had my monitor and was out the door. 4 days later the monitor started having major problems and i was forced to return it. To my shock and dismay, I was charged 15% restocking fee, as they explained since it was originally an online order, it would have to be shipped back to the warehouse. Needless to say I refused to pay the restocking fee, and after nearly an hour negotiating my point, I was finally granted my full refund. This my friends, was strike one against CompUSA.com and CompUSA in general.

Strike 2 came when I was attempting to order a video card one afternoon, found the item, put the item in my cart, and tried to checkout. To my surprise, the item was suddenly no longer in stock. So, I decided I would try and call the order in. Well, this was no easy thing to do either. It took me nearly half an hour to speak to someone who had any idea how to even place an order for me. And this is their idea of customer service?? I was finally told that the item was out of stock, and they would not be receiving any more, which is odd since the item continued to show instock on their web page for another 48 hours.

Strike 3 came as a result of my purchasing a DVD online. The price was a bit below other retailers at the time, $12.99 rather than $15.99 that most retailers were selling it for. So i ordered and asked for faster delivery as i wanted to watch the DVD sooner than later. Well later that night i received an email from CompUSA stating that my order was cancelled due to an error in pricing. So I politely emailed them back asking why the price had been posted for an entire week and why my order was not allowed to go through. Their response was that they are not responsible for errors in pricing, and that was it. I can understand this response had the price been an obvious error, however the price not only seemed correct, but was reasonable considering the item.
