I bought a laptop at CompUSA because I was able to get a discount on it. I read in a review like this one that there customer service wasn't the best but any review you read will have critism of some sort. Except now I know that it was very true. I've never written a review before but this was so bad that I had to to save other people from having problems and stress like me. My laptop worked really well after I first got it and then one day it just started to shut off on it's own. I was able to turn it back on but then it would happen again. Then one time when I turned it off it wouldn't start back up. It just gave me a blue screen. So I took it in, they kept it for 2 weeks and gave it back. About 2 weeks later, same problem. They "fixed" it and returned it. About 2 months later it happened again. Clearly they never actually fixed the problem. This time we told them the cooling fan didn't seem to be working and that happened to be the actual problem...now why couldn't they diagnose that themselves? So after another 2 weeks I get it back. It works fine for about 8 months and then..the same thing happens. I take it in and they send it away to TX for it to get repaired. They tell us that they need us to purchase a recovery disk from the computers manufacturer and then bring it to the store so they can use it when the computer comes back. so after waiting 1.5 weeks for the disk, we take it to the store and they tell us to stop by the next day and it should be ready. SO, as told, we came in. They said they needed 20 more minutes to double check that it was working. So we shopped around and when we returned to the service desk they say that the problem didn't appear to be fixed in TX so they needed to send it back. I was furious. We told them they need to replace it because we've had the same problem 4 times and not once have they fixed it. They said a manager would contact us about it. No one did. so we called them and they said they would look into it and see what they could do and get back to us. They never did. So we called again and they said we could get a new one but they had to get approval of some sort first and told us they'd call when they had it. They actually called to say that we were able to get a replacement and that we would probably get it within the next two days. two days later, no call. So we call and they say within the next two days. No call. We of course had to call them AGAIN and this went on for a week and a half all because they needed an "ok" for the laptop they choose to give me. In the end, I still don't have my laptop back and it has been a month and a half. I am EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED with the service and am thouroughly disgusted with it as well. TAKE MY ADVICE and don't make any purchases here that require you to use their service desk. They are slow, don't call when they say they will, and oh yea, one time they lost track of our service record and didn't know where my laptop even was. THEY SUCK and I AM TICKED OFF
