Buy.com has the WORST customer service! OUTSOURCING GREED!
Full review Aargh! Buy.com has the WORST customer service ever! I am actually trying to get through to them as I write this, and so far have been on hold for more than 40 minutes now. I have my phone on speakers so I have to find something to do or else I'm tempted to smash my phone to smitherines! This isn't first or second time this happened. It's more like most times. While the website is easy to navigate and shop from, just don't run into any problems because if you do and need to call, be prepared to be on hold for minumum 20 min. at least. Then when you finally do get through, you have CSRs who can barely speak english, at least english one can understand (that's outsourcing for you). So far, it's Indian or Philippino based. Indians tend to be a little nicer than the Philippino ones in my experience. But both seem to answer questions as if reading from scripts and you get the feeling they really have no idea about what to do to help fix actual problems. They're trained like parrots and have to refer every other problem or inquiry to a higher up (whom you're not allowed to ever speak to), which means you hardly get problems fixed right away. Expect more calls and more holds later on. Buy.com's CSR's aren't exactly very flexible or understanding when it comes with dealing with customers because they are absolutely incompetetant. Try dealing with one (or a couple) next time, and hear them tell you they'll be forwarding an email to this department or that supervisor. BTW, it's up to 59 minutes on hold now and counting. No joke here, I wish I could post the hold music and the recorded message, "we apologize for the delay, our representatives are still assisting other customers. Please remain on the line and we will assist you as quickly as possible..." WHAT A JOKE! Ironic too that the recorded voice will be the only and last American-as-apple-pie speaker you'll be hearing. Hehe. OMG, after being placed on hold for 1 hour and 12 min. now, I've finally gotten through! My problem? I returned a product and still haven't gotten my refund despite two previous inquiries and this being almost a month now. Conclusion after this latest call? Same ole lines: "you will get your refund, don't worry. I will forward an email to the credit department to let them know". As to my telling him how long I waited? "I know, I apologize for the delay. Is there anything more I can assist you with?". I thought I would try Buy.com after staying away from them for two years because of being burned once too often. I thought to try them again with their Google Checkout promotion. Now I remember why I stayed away and why hands down Amazon.com wins my business on every level. Buy.com is a great example of cold corporate greed with no customer centric focus. |
