I went shopping for blank tapes for my Exabyte VXA-1 tape drive. These tapes are rather expensive, so I did a lot of web searching before purchasing.

Buy.com had the second-best price ($57.22 per tape, although the price has since gone up to $73.98 each - obviously, this item's price is a bit volatile.) I chose buy.com because the store with the best price ($55 each) did not have a very good rating.

I placed my order on the web site Monday afternoon. Since it has been a long time since my last order with buy.com, I had to enter a new credit card number (the one they had on record had expired.) It was very easy to change the card number and place my order.

I chose ground shipping ($5.24). It shipped out via FedEx ground at midnight that night and arrived the next day. I was quite surprised. Even given the fact that Harrisburg PA to Vienna VA is only a 3 hour drive, I did not expect it to arrive that quickly.

Since I had no problems with my order, I did not use their customer service department, so I have not rated that part of the company.
