For a selection as big as the Amazon, look at Amazon.com!
Full review I have been ordering from Amazon.com for several years now, and it is one of the places I shop very often, especially around the holiday season, when I can find my husband hard to find DVDs and VHS tapes, such as Conan the Destroyer. But, Amazon.com is not just DVDs and VHS tapes, theres so much more to choose from! When logging onto www.amazon.com, youll see clickable tabs at the left of the page: Books, Music, and Movies Clothing and Accessories Computer and Office Consumer electronics Food and Household Health and Beauty Home and Garden Kids and Toys Sports and Fitness Tools and Automotive There is also a great search function for you to use, which is normally what I do. Just type in whatever you are looking for, and they will come up with lots of correct results. The site is easily navigated, and its not too flashy or busy. Also, you can register at the site like I did and have your information saved, and Amazon will give you suggestions based on what you have previously ordered. For example, since I have ordered a few Barbie DVDs for my kids, on my suggestion list there are similar movies, such as the new Barbie movie coming to DVD in September. Amazon also has a wish list, where you can save items to it for any length of time, I use this a lot during the holiday season, that way I dont have to scratch around and search for what I need. Also, you can email your wishlist to others and they can purchase items from it. They also have a shopping list, which serves basically the same function. There is also a wedding and baby registry. On my last particular shopping trip, I decided to get a portable DVD player. The one I wanted at Wal-Mart was out of stock, so I immediately came home and ordered one from Amazon. The particular one I ordered came from Amazon directly, and it also came with free shipping. Another reason I like shopping on amazon.com is that a lot of times there is no tax charged on orders. Sometimes with sellers that are listed on Amazon have tax charges, though, so you have to watch out and make sure the item is sold by Amazon. Anyway, upon checking out, you can choose your payment method, and they accept all major credit cards, and they also can do a bank draft, and also if your items are directly sold from Amazon, you can send in a personal check, just print off your order and mail it to them. After placing your order, you get a confirmation email letting you know your order was received. You get another email when your order has been shipped, along with a tracking link. My DVD player came via UPS in a few business days. It was really a good bargain, I just paid the $76 for the player, no tax or shipping was charged. Returns are easy with Amazon, I didnt have to return this latest item, but this past Christmas I had to return a non working MP3 player. I just called them and stated it did not work, and then I was able to print off a postage paid mailing label, and send it right back in. I got a refund for it within a few days. If you pay by credit card, you will be reimbursed, but if you pay by check, there will be a credit in your account that you can apply to your next order. Overall, I would recommend Amazon.com, it has great prices, sometimes you can catch free shipping, no tax, great selection, and returns are easy. |
