Amazon.com has always been a reliable option for my online shopping. They sell a huge variety of products at usually slightly discounted prices. Often times I buy books or videos as gifts, but I've bought things like diapers and beauty products as well. I've been buying from them since the beginning of 2000.

Their website rarely has any problems that I've found. Once you purchase a few things, or rate them (you can rate any item as long as you are logged into your account), the site will provide recommendations for you. They also have a gold box (tm) which provides deeper discounted products that change on a daily basis.

You can search by a variety of categories from Books, Music & Movies or Top Sellers or you can even buy gift certificates. And of course there is a search box where you can search by the name of the product and a drop down to search the entire site or just in a particular category.

A fun thing about Amazon is that you can create wish lists, so other people can come visit the site, look for your wish list and purchase things directly off the list through the site. I created a wish list for my son's 1st and 2nd birthdays.

My most recent purchase was of a set of anatomy flash cards to help myself study for an upcoming test. I searched for ones I knew someone else in my class had and liked that at the bottom of the item/product page (after a thorough description of the product and multiple reviews from consumers) it had info about what products people bought after looking at the flash cards. I checked out some of the other flash cards people bought and found one I liked more. Ultimately I ended up buying the other ones.

Amazon often offers free shipping on purchases of over $25 if the products aren't through a third party company, of which Amazon has quite a few partnerships.

My flash cards were over $25 so I could have qualified, but the free shipping is 5-9 business days for delivery. I opted for Standard Shipping which is 3-5 days and cost $3.99. They also have 2 day and 1 day shipping options. They have a page on the site that details their shipping rates and options.

After placing my order, through a secure portion of the website, I received an email right away thanking me for my order and detailing my order info. Two days later I received an email saying my order had shipped with a link to track it. Three days later my order arrived. My order arrived 3 business days after my order was placed in perfect condition.

I was very pleased with my most recent order, as I have been with all orders I have placed on Amazon.com over the last seven years. I highly recommend this site to everyone for online purchases.
